A Poem About Duncan MacLeod

I wrote this poem in November 2002 (when I was nineteen) about Duncan MacLeod, from TV’s Highlander.

Duncan MacLeod

Immortality is the life you lead,
Heartache is your enemy.
You’ve had some great memories along the way,
And you’ve had some that aren’t so memorable.

And whatever has happened,
Gives you even more reason to get up in the morning.
No matter what you face,
No matter how much blood you shed,
However many tears you cry,
You remember the creed told to you long ago:

There can be only one.

For you are the Highlander.
